This detailed product description refers to the high-quality CuAl8 brazing wire made from a copper-aluminum alloy, developed for professional applications. The product is an ideal choice for welding tasks where outstanding corrosion resistance and saltwater properties are required.
A CuAl8 brazing wire a special, aluminum-bronze based consumable, optimized primarily for TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) and MIG (Metal Inert Gas) processes. The 1.0 mm wire diameter enables precise and controlled welding, while the K300 spool reel provides a large quantity of material (15 kg), minimizing the frequency of changes in the workshop.
Key Features:
Excellent Corrosion Resistance: The CuAl8 alloy is particularly resistant to corrosion, including damage caused by seawater, making it ideal for shipbuilding, marine, and work performed in wet environments.
Good Running Characteristics: The wire feeds excellently in the feeding system, ensuring a smooth and reliable arc handling.
Application Versatility: Widely usable for welding copper-aluminum alloys (e.g., aluminum bronzes containing 7-9% aluminum), as well as copper and copper-zinc alloys (brass).
Buildup Welding: Ideally suited for buildup welding of ferrous materials (unalloyed and low-alloy steels, as well as cast iron).
The product possesses precise mechanical properties that guarantee stable and quality weld seams.

For successful welding, it is important to follow the procedures recommended by the manufacturer:
Preheating: Preheating is only necessary for large workpieces, around 250 °C temperature.
Shielding Gases (TIG/MIG): Shielding gases compliant with the EN ISO 14175 standard can be used for welding.
TIG Welding Special Note: To prevent oxidation during TIG welding welding flux is recommended.
Buildup Welding on Iron-Based Materials: If the wire is used for the first layer of buildup welding on iron-based materials (steels, cast iron), pulsed arc welding is recommended to achieve the best results.
The CuAl8 welding wire is an ideal choice in the following areas:
Welding of Copper-Aluminum alloys: Especially Aluminum-Bronzes (approx. 7-9% Al content).
Repair and joining of Copper and Copper-Zinc alloys (Brass).
Buildup Welding: Creation of corrosion-resistant layers on unalloyed and low-alloyed steels, as well as on cast iron surfaces.
Marine and Shipbuilding Applications: Due to its excellent marine resistance capability.
The wire's on a K300 spool is wound. The dimensions and design of the K300 spool ensure the smooth unspooling of the wire into the welding equipment.
Available Spool Sizes (General):
D200 / 5 kg
K300 / 15 kg (This product)
For optimal use of the K300 spool, accessory adapters are available that ensure stable fixture of the spool and uninterrupted wire feeding:
These accessories are essential in a professional workshop environment for efficient and uninterrupted work.
